Clinical Brachytherapy Workshop

The ABG's clinical brachytherapy workshop is held every two years.

The 4-day program caters for a total of 45 trainees from radiation oncology, medical physics, and radiation therapists. A large faculty supported by our most experienced brachytherapy professionals from around Australia will provide the training.

The workshop is aimed at trainees from radiation oncology, medical physics and radiation therapy who are relatively new to the practice of brachytherapy. It provides an introductory overview of the relevant theory, evidence, and practical planning and treatment techniques. A large faculty of brachytherapy professionals from around Australia provide lectures, training and hands-on workshops.

The workshop usually runs for 3.5 to 4 days from Thursday to Sunday.

The program usually also includes a social function dinner on either the Thursday or Friday evening.

Since 2023, the workshop has been held at St George Hospital in Sydney.

The next workshop is due in 2027. Details will be posted in our events calendar when they become available.
